Mangaluru, Apr 27: The Leo Charitable Trust (Reg), Mangaluru, and Ranipurath Hacho Gurkhar (trustee) hosted the grand event ‘Sangeet Shatak’ Musical Dhamaka-100 on April 20 at the Ranipura School ground in Mangaluru.
The event was aimed at honouring the contributions to Konkani music. A special tribute was given to 12 prominent Konkani artistes during the event.



























The ceremony was presided over by M B Jayaprakash D'Souza, who delivered a message of congratulations and encouragement. He also praised the longstanding work of Leo Charitable Trust and highlighted the importance of music in uniting people and preserving culture.
Bob Eric Ozario was conferred with the prestigious title of ‘Konkan Sangeet Sagar’, while Melwyn Peris was awarded the ‘Konkan Melody King’ title and Mike Simon received the ‘Konkan Sangeet Shikhar’ award. In addition, Bob Santosh Sequeira was honoured with the ‘Seva Veer’ title for his exceptional service to society.
Among those present were notable figures including Bob Lawrence Saldanha (Mumbai), Kenny Zjarthe (Mumbai), Jerome Moras, Dolla Mangaluru, Joseph Pinto Angelo, Jerry Bondel, Lancy Henry Moras, Irene D’Souza and many others, who were also presented with awards for their contributions to music and society.
Aishal Monteiro, Reeshal Melba Crasta, and Ashal Kezia D’Souza were recognised for their remarkable achievements in various fields of Konkani society.
The event also featured performances by well-known artistes such as Raviraj D’Souza Permannuru, Melwyn Peris, Vincent Fernandes Cassia, Zina Pereira, Joshal D’Souza, Roni Crasta, Sandesh Babanna, Jason Lobo Bondel, and William Rebello, among others, who mesmerised the audience with their musical talents.
A memorable performance was delivered by Rajesh-Rajendra’s ensemble, including Rajesh Moyli (keyboard), Rajendra Moyli (drummer), Roshan D’Souza, Bela (lead guitar), Vijay Noronha (bass guitar), and Prajwal Fenterio (trumpet). The talented ensemble played soul-stirring music for the gathered audience.
The Remona Event Horizon dance crew also performed spectacular dance routines, adding an exciting dimension to the musical evening. Dance performances by Roshan Crasta Kulshekar, Floyd D’Mello Cassia, Preetham Noronha, Fazeer, and Raviraj D’Souza kept the crowd captivated.
In addition to the entertainment, the event saw generous donations and was made possible by the contributions of individuals and organisations.
Herald Albuquerque and his team provided professional photography services, while Pixel Videography managed the live broadcast. The event also received support in sound and lighting from Lobo Pro Sounds Kallap.
The event was a success, with all artistes and contributors recognised for their hard work and dedication to preserving Konkani music and culture. Rose Arrangers Vamanjoor provided floral decorations for the event, and New P L Caterers ensured that everyone enjoyed a delicious meal.
The evening concluded with heartfelt thanks to all present for making the event a grand success, and the organisers expressed their hope to continue the tradition of such musical celebrations.
