Panaji, Apr 29: Even as over a week has passed since a daring robbery rocked the posh Dona Paula locality, Panaji Police continue to remain clueless about the perpetrators behind the audacious crime.
The robbery, which occurred on the intervening night of April 19 and 20, targeted the residence of a prominent Goan businessman. A gang of 6-7 unidentified men is said to have launched the attack, first overpowering the Nepali caretaker/security guard stationed outside the house.

Sources informed that the caretaker was brutally assaulted and tied up by the gang, who then forced him to facilitate their entry into the house. Once inside, the robbers tied up the elderly couple residing there and ransacked the premises, making away with a substantial haul of cash and valuables.
Despite launching an investigation immediately after the incident, the police have so far failed to identify the culprits or make any arrests.
One of the major challenges facing the investigators is the lack of CCTV footage, as the robbers are believed to have carefully navigated routes not covered by surveillance cameras, thereby leaving minimal electronic trails.
The brazen nature of the crime and the apparent planning involved has raised serious concerns among residents about the safety measures in place, even in upscale neighborhoods.
Senior police officials have assured that efforts are underway and multiple teams have been formed to crack the case, but a breakthrough remains elusive.
Further updates are awaited as the investigation progresses.
