Puttur, Apr 29: A tragic incident of a wild elephant attack has been reported near Perlampady, resulting in the death of a woman.

The incident occurred on Tuesday morning in the vicinity of Kaniyaru, Perlampady.

According to reports, the woman was engaged in rubber tapping when a lone elephant attacked her. She was reportedly killed on the spot in the brutal assault.

Local sources confirmed that the elephant involved in the attack was solitary.
