Mangaluru, Apr 29: Ambrose M C has been awarded a PhD in English by Srinivas University, Mangaluru, for his thesis titled A Critical Analysis of Displacement, Space, and Identity from a Postcolonial Perspective in The Namesake *by Jhumpa Lahiri, The Immigrant by Manju Kapur, and A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry. His research was guided by Dr A Lourdusamy, research professor of English, Department of Social Sciences and Humanities, Institute of Management and Commerce, Srinivas University.
Ambrose M C is associate professor and head of the Department of English at Government First Grade College for Women, Balmatta, Mangaluru.

His research explores the ongoing struggles of individuals navigating their identities in a world marked by migration, cultural hybridity, and economic disparity. The themes addressed resonate with contemporary global issues such as refugee crises, cultural erosion, and the search for belonging amid displacement. The study contributes to understanding how literature can reflect and deepen awareness of these complex societal challenges, fostering empathy and insight into the formation of identity across diverse cultural contexts.
