Bahrain, May 24: Michelle Maria D’Souza, a 21-year-old Data Science student from Christ University, Pune, and a proud Mangalurean by heritage, has been crowned "Indian Club May Queen 2025" in Bahrain. She also won the "Best Hair-Do" title at the pageant, marking another milestone in her impressive two-decade journey of competition success.

Born and raised in the Kingdom of Bahrain to Mangalurean parents Sunil and Veena D’Souza, and sister to Steve D’Souza, Michelle has represented the perfect blend of cultural grounding and modern ambition. Her win is seen as a culmination of years of dedication, dating back to when she began competing at the tender age of four.

Michelle’s schooling at The Indian School, Bahrain provided her with early opportunities to explore her potential. Influential platforms such as the Karnataka Social Club, Konkan Singers Club, Kannada Sangha, and Sacred Heart Church played a key role in nurturing her skills across performing arts, public speaking, and stage presence.

“Michelle has been participating in competitions since she was 4 years old,” said a family spokesperson. “Her dedication to excellence has been consistent throughout her journey, winning awards and accolades year after year.”

Now pursuing her Bachelor’s in Data Science at Christ University, Pune, Michelle exemplifies the modern, multi-talented young woman who balances rigorous academics with cultural excellence. She plans to pursue a Master’s degree, reflecting her strong academic orientation and lifelong commitment to growth.

Michelle’s achievements span an impressive range of disciplines including cultural competitions in singing, dancing, acting, and Prince & Princess pageants through community clubs, along with athletic success at school, college, and club levels. Despite her busy schedule, she has also consistently performed well academically, managing her demanding coursework in Data Science with distinction.

The May Queen pageant jury praised Michelle for her blend of elegance, intellect, and stage presence. Her composure and natural confidence set her apart in the final rounds. “Her elegance, grace, and unwavering confidence truly shone through, making her a deserving winner of this prestigious title,” said the organisers. “Michelle has not only captivated the judges but also the hearts of everyone who witnessed her journey.”

She credited the Indian Club President Cassius Pereira, the organising committee, and all members for providing encouragement and support throughout the pageant process.

Michelle’s win has sparked celebration among the Mangalorean and Indian communities in Bahrain, especially the clubs and associations that have watched her growth from a child to a confident and accomplished young woman.

Her parents, Sunil and Veena D’Souza, along with brother Steve, expressed immense pride in her achievement, stating that Michelle has always taken every opportunity seriously and excelled with humility and focus.

As Michelle continues her academic journey while holding the Indian Club May Queen 2025 crown, she stands as a role model for young people trying to balance education, cultural identity, and personal passion.

Her story is not just about a crown — it’s about the triumph of perseverance, talent, and the values rooted in her Mangalorean heritage and Bahraini upbringing. Michelle Maria D’Souza’s win is not the conclusion of her journey — it’s another milestone in a path marked by dedication, achievement, and grace.
