Byndoor, May 26: In a shocking incident of animal cruelty, a man in Byndoor tied his pet dog to the back of his motorcycle with a chain and dragged it for nearly 2 km along National Highway 66. The inhumane act, which occurred on Saturday evening, has drawn widespread condemnation from the public.

The man, reportedly a resident of Paduvari village in Byndoor, was seen cruelly dragging the dog from Byndoor town along the highway. When concerned citizens stopped him and questioned his actions, he arrogantly responded, "It is my dog, who are you to ask?" However, as more people gathered at the scene, his true nature was exposed.

Due to the brutal dragging, the dog sustained serious injuries to its legs, causing profuse bleeding. Witnesses were horrified to see the trail of blood left on the road. The incident sparked outrage online, with many social media users criticizing the man's barbaric behaviour and demanding strict legal action against him.

Residents of Udupi district expressed deep shame that such a cruel act occurred in a region known for its awareness and sensitivity. The public has called for stringent punishment for the offender and urged authorities to take appropriate preventive measures to ensure such incidents do not recur in the future.

A suo moto complaint has been filed at Byndoor police station.

Please ensure the man receives the same treatment he inflicted on the dog, so he can understand the pain the defenseless animal endured. I hope and pray that he faces severe punishment, serving as a lesson for the future

This sadist probably is used to being cruel to his family and hence has no compassion on a helpless animal. Sincerely hope the SPCA and the police take stringent action on this man.

“He who is cruel to animals becomes hard also in his dealings with men. We can judge the heart of a man by his treatment of animals.” First of all, domestic dogs are faithful to his master and always remains alert as to strangers or trespasser found within the compound. The incident is too much to bear for any one.

This act is very inhumane and not tolerable. To stop this from further happening, this man should be dragged extra 1km the same way as he did to this poor dog .
