Moodlakatte Institute of Technology celebrates World Environment Day

Kundapur, Jun 6: The MBA department of Moodlakatte Institute of Technology celebrated World Environment Day on June 5, with an inspiring programme centered on environmental protection and awareness.

Renowned environmentalist and mathematics teacher at the Government High School, Koteshwara, Srikant Vaderhobli, was invited as the resource person. In his address, he emphasised the importance of taking personal responsibility in protecting the environment, regardless of public recognition. He urged students to plant and nurture at least one tree each, contributing directly to environmental conservation. He also stressed the importance of reusing plastic to reduce environmental harm.

The programme was presided over by Dr Melwyn D’Souza, vice principal of the college, who underlined that safeguarding the environment is essential for ensuring public health.

Student Shambhavi compered the event and delivered the vote of thanks. Assistant professor Tilak Lakshmi coordinated the entire programme.

As part of the celebration, students planted saplings in the college campus and adopted them as a commitment to making every day an environment day.

Dr Suchitra Poojary, head of the MBA department, along with other faculty members, were present on the occasion.
