Mangaluru, Jun 21: St Theresa's School hosted orientation for parents of new entrants at St Theresa's School Auditorium on June 21.
St Theresa's School welcomed the families of its newest learners today at a carefully curated orientation programme for parents of new entrants. The session set the tone for the academic year ahead, outlining the school’s motto Bloom Forth in love for love, while underscoring the joint responsibility of home and school in shaping confident, compassionate children.

Renowned endodontist and academician Dr Ashwini Colaco delivered the keynote address, centering her talk on discipline with warmth.
“Each child begins life in a cosy cocoon of safety and wonder,” she said. “Our task, together, is to nurture that cocoon—yet gradually strengthen it with loving boundaries so the child can emerge resilient and self-reliant.”
She emphasised that children mirror adult behaviour, concluding, “Be the hero your child looks up to—your words, habits, and digital manners speak louder than lessons.”
Finally, she applauded the relentless efforts of teachers, calling them “quiet architects of discipline and discovery.”
Principal Lourdes thanked parents for entrusting St Theresa's School with their children’s formative years “Every child who walks through our gates is a little champion in the making. As educators, we count and teach letters—but equally, we count acts of kindness and teach courage. She urged parents to master the art of “saying no”:
“A clear, calm ‘no’ teaches children to respect limits,” she explained. Boundaries are not barriers; they are guide-rails to freedom.”
She outlined the school’s holistic approach, blending academic rigour with value-based education, and invited parents to maintain an open dialogue with teachers throughout the year.
The orientation reaffirmed St Theresa's School’s belief that consistent boundaries, exemplary adult role-models, and strong parent-teacher partnerships are the cornerstones of a nurturing educational journey. With shared purpose and clear expectations, the school and its newest families are poised to help every child step out of the cosy cocoon—and soar.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and singing of the National Anthem.
