Bulandshahr, July 3: Rising from humble beginnings in a small village in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr district, Pawan Kumar has secured the 239th rank in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2023, marking a remarkable journey of perseverance, resilience, and ambition.

Born into a financially struggling family, Pawan spent his early years in a modest mud house topped with an asbestos roof. His father, Mukesh Kumar, is a farmer who had only hoped for his son to find a stable job. However, Pawan harboured bigger dreams — he aspired to join the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and serve the nation.

Determined to overcome his circumstances, Pawan committed himself to his studies from a young age. With limited resources but unwavering resolve, he consistently performed well in academics. His path to the civil services, however, was not easy. He faced repeated failures in the examination, but each setback only deepened his resolve.

According to reports, Pawan failed the UPSC exam twice before clearing it in his third attempt. His success is attributed to a disciplined study routine, focused preparation strategy, and the ability to learn from each hurdle. He also sought mentorship and remained mentally strong throughout the demanding process.

Pawan’s story stands as a powerful example for aspirants from economically weaker backgrounds. It highlights that financial hardships can be overcome with grit, hard work, and determination. His achievement is not just personal — it represents the triumph of aspiration over adversity.

Now set to enter the civil services, Pawan Kumar’s journey reflects the very values the IAS upholds — integrity, service, and leadership. His story continues to inspire countless young minds striving to make a difference against all odds.
