Mumbai, Jul 6: A tragic end to a same-sex relationship between two teenagers in Mumbai has shocked the city, with a 19-year-old arrested for the alleged murder of his 16-year-old partner. The incident came to light after the minor's father filed a complaint, accusing the older teen of poisoning his son by lacing a cold drink.
According to the police, the 16-year-old left home for a walk on June 29 but never returned. After a search, the family learned from a friend that the boy had gone to the accused's house. When they reached the residence, they found their son unresponsive in bed with the accused sitting nearby. A doctor later confirmed the minor had died.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the accused allegedly gave the victim a cold drink after which he began vomiting and collapsed. Police suspect the drink was spiked, but confirmation awaits a detailed forensic report.
The complaint also mentions that the accused had taken the minor to Nagpur four months ago without informing his family. Following that, the victim's parents had warned him to cut off contact. The two reportedly stopped meeting, which may have prompted the accused to plan the alleged murder, police suspect.
The accused has been arrested, and further investigation is underway. The case has sparked conversations around teen relationships, consent, and safety in the city.
