Udupi, Feb 9: "The Lord does not have a proper form. Every name and every being belongs to Him. He is present in invisible form in everything and everyone, irrespective of whether they are living beings or lifeless objects. He takes the form we worship him in, and blesses us by presenting himself in that form,” said Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejavar Mutt.

He was delivering benedictory address at the religious meeting organized as part of Ashtapavitra Nagamandalotsava organized on the occasion of silver jubilee of Kediyoor Hotel here on Wednesday February 8.

He referring to criticism made by certain people that Hindus worship plants, trees, animals, serpents, rocks etc, insisted that this is a unique feature of this religion.

The Swamiji said that the serpent god also accepts worship in various other forms like Lord Vasuki (who was used as rope for churning Ksheerasagara), Lord Subrahmanya (power to annihilate enemies), Lord Shesha (power to bear the burden of world), Lord Padmanabha (the form in which Lord Brahma was born out of the navel of Lord Vishnu), etc.

Sri Vidyaprasannateertha Swamiji of Subrahmanya Mutt said that people who beseech the serpent god get blessed with noble children and affluence, besides getting cure for their ailments. Sri Lakshmivarateertha Swamiji of Shirur Mutt said that serpent god readily yields to the requests of devotees, and hence, gets a special place among deities worshipped in coastal Karnataka, which was created by Parashurama.

Sri Vidyavallabhateertha Swamiji of Kaniyoor Mutt said that the Lord has bestowed the unique feature of the ability to hear and see from the eye in the form of serpent god.

The Swamijis, taking note of devotion and noble virtues of Bhuvanendra Kediyoor, wished that he will continue to be as such in future. MLA, K Rahupati Bhat, and others were present.

Director of the hotel, Yajnesh Kediyoor, welcomed. Chairman, Bhuvanendra Kediyoor proposed vote of thanks. Gopalacharya presented the programme.

In the evening function, Sri Sugunednrateertha Swamijii of Puttige Mutt delivered benedictory address, and recollected that Bhuvanendra Kediyoor had worshipped the serpent god before starting his hotel business.

About 70,000 people took part in the community feast organized on the occasion in the afternoon. Nearly 75 cooks had been engaged in the task of preparing food.
