Puttur: 16 injured as two KSRTC buses collide near Shiradi

Puttur, Sep 29: Sixteen passengers were injured when two Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) buses collided near Shiradi on National Highway 75, connecting Bengaluru and Mangaluru, on Sunday evening. The accident disrupted vehicular movement for nearly three hours.

The collision occurred near Gundya in Shiradi village between a KSRTC bus traveling from Bengaluru to Dharmasthala and a Rajahamsa bus heading from Mangaluru to Bengaluru.

Nine passengers in the Dharmasthala-bound bus sustained serious injuries and were admitted to the hospital, while seven passengers in the Rajahamsa bus suffered minor injuries.

Police from the Nellyadi outpost rushed to the spot and facilitated the smooth resumption of traffic.
