Beltangady, Oct 4: A tempo traveller overturned on the Guruvayanakere-Karkala road in Aladangady on Saturday while trying to avoid hitting a woman crossing the highway.
According to reports, the vehicle was moving at speed when the woman stepped onto the road. In an attempt to prevent hitting her, the driver swerved the tempo traveller to the right. However, the vehicle lost control and toppled onto the other side.
Passengers inside the tempo traveller escaped with minor injuries, and the woman suffered slight scratches and bruises.
The entire incident was captured on a CCTV camera, and the video has since gone viral on social media, highlighting the split-second actions taken by the driver to prevent a major accident.
Authorities have urged commuters to exercise caution on the Guruvayanakere-Karkala stretch, especially when crossing busy roads.
