Udupi, Oct 6: In a major revelation in the murder case of rowdy-sheeter Saifuddin, accused Faisal allegedly used his wife, the fourth accused, Rida Shabana, to trap and kill him.

Superintendent of police Hariram Shankar, during a press conference held at the Udupi police station office on Monday October 6, said, “So far, three persons have already been arrested in connection with this murder case. Rida Shabana has now been taken into custody for allegedly conspiring in the murder plot. Faisal had claimed that Saifuddin was killed because he had allegedly cast an evil eye on his wife. Faisal admitted that he participated in the murder due to this personal grudge.”

SP Hariram Shankar further added that investigations revealed Rida Shabana had been in contact with Saifuddin for nearly a year through phone calls, chats, and photo sharing. Faisal was aware of his wife’s close acquaintance with Saifuddin, which eventually led to the murder conspiracy.

It is alleged that Faisal used his wife to lure Saifuddin. On the day of the murder, Saifuddin was supposed to travel to Mangaluru, but Faisal reportedly told him that ‘Rida is waiting for you’ and brought him to a house in Kodavoor near Malpe. Rida also called Saifuddin and said she was waiting for him at the Kodavoor residence.

During the investigation, police discovered that Rida was actively involved in the murder conspiracy. Following this revelation, Malpe police arrested Rida Shabana, the wife of accused Faisal.
