Kundapur: Man held for gold chain theft in Kota; police recover stolen jewellery

Kundapur, Oct 6: A case of gold chain theft reported from Yadadi Mathyadi village under Kota police station limits has been successfully solved by the police.

The accused, Anand (26), son of Subrahmanya Bhovi, residing at Kamalamma House, Guddattu Ganapati Temple Road, near Shiriya Anganwadi, Shiriya Village, Brahmavar, was arrested in connection with the case.

According to the complaint lodged by Basava Poojari (72), a resident of Yadadi Mathyadi, Kundapur, an 18-gram gold chain kept inside a Godrej cupboard at his residence was stolen between 7 pm on September 26 and 9 am on September 27. The estimated value of the stolen chain is Rs 1,45,000.

Based on the complaint, the Kota police registered a case.

Following the investigation led by PSI Praveen Kumar R, PSI Sudha Prabhu, and Kota Police staff, the accused was taken into custody.

The stolen gold chain has been recovered from the accused’s possession.
