Mumbai, Oct 8: In an effort to revive the Sanskrit language and make it a popular spoken language, the central Sanskrit university has established Sanskrit study centres in various higher education institutions across the city. Unlike traditional methods, these centres focus on conversational teaching, enabling students to speak Sanskrit naturally, said the heads of the Sanskrit study centres.

The first-level one-year certificate course has been designed to make learning Sanskrit easy and accessible for everyone.

Classes are scheduled as follows: every Monday and Tuesday at 12:00 pm at SIES College, Sion; every Wednesday and Thursday at 1:00 pm at Kirti College, Dadar West; and every Friday and Saturday at 5:00 pm at Thakur College, Kandivali East.

Registrations have begun at all Sanskrit study centres. Participants above 15 years of age can enrol by paying the course fee of Rs 1,500 (including study materials) online through the Government of India’s Samarth portal. Those interested in learning Sanskrit can contact 9424055680 or 9930937790, or email chandramohanmkgs@gmail.com for more information.
