Mumbai, Oct 9: Commuters in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) can now travel seamlessly across all major transport modes using just one ticket. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday launched the ‘Mumbai One’ app — a unified mobility platform designed to integrate ticketing and travel information for metros, suburban trains, monorails, buses, and even taxis.

Starting from 5 am on October 9, passengers can download the app and generate a single dynamic QR code for their entire multi-modal journey. Whether it’s a metro, monorail, local train, or bus ride, the same QR ticket can be used throughout the trip, eliminating the need to purchase multiple tickets.

For example, a commuter traveling from Worli to Kannamwar Nagar, Vikhroli, will now require only one integrated ticket costing Rs 97 — covering:

• Metro Line 3 (Worli–Marol): Rs 60

• Metro Line 1 (Marol–Ghatkopar): Rs 20

• Suburban train (Ghatkopar–Vikhroli): Rs 5

• BEST AC bus (Vikhroli–Kannamwar Nagar): Rs 12

The app goes beyond ticketing by offering real-time route guidance — notifying users when to alight, walking distances between stations, next connections, and live updates on delays or diversions.

Officials said the app integrates services of 11 major transport agencies, including:

• Metro Lines 1, 2A–7, and 3

• Navi Mumbai Metro

• Mumbai Monorail

• Suburban Railways

• Bus services operated by BEST, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Mira-Bhayander, and Kalyan Dombivli

With this, Mumbai One aims to create a truly connected and efficient public transport experience for millions of daily commuters.
