Paithan MLA admits to bringing 20,000 outside voters during assembly polls

Paithan, Oct 11: A startling revelation by Paithan MLA Vilas Bhumre has stirred political circles in Maharashtra after he openly admitted to bringing around 20,000 voters from outside during the last Assembly elections. The disclosure was made on Friday during a Shinde Sena group leaders’ and booth heads’ meeting held at Sant Eknath Rangmandir in Paithan.

The event, organized ahead of the upcoming local body elections, was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Guardian Minister Sanjay Shirsat, MP Sandipan Bhumre, and several party legislators from the district.

During the interaction, when Deputy CM Shinde asked Bhumre how he managed to bring in such a large number of voters, the MLA candidly responded that voters from outside areas were brought in to cast their votes, playing a decisive role in his victory.

Bhumre’s statement has since sparked widespread discussion, with many questioning the integrity of the election process. The timing of his admission — just as political parties gear up for local body polls — has added to the controversy surrounding electoral practices in the region.
