Agar Malwa, Oct 12: In a shocking incident that has stirred public outrage, a 45-year-old worker died of a heart attack while his employer continued scrolling through his phone, showing no concern for the victim’s distress.

The tragedy occurred on Monday at Tirupati Traders in Susner, Agar Malwa district. The deceased, identified as Rafiq Khan, suddenly clutched his chest and collapsed on his chair while at work. For nearly six minutes, he gasped for breath and writhed in pain as people around him, including the shop owner, failed to offer any help.

CCTV footage of the incident, now viral on social media, shows Khan struggling for life while the shop owner glances at him occasionally but remains seated, engrossed in his phone. At no point did anyone step forward to provide assistance or call for medical help.

By the time Khan was finally taken to a hospital, doctors declared him brought dead.

Meanwhile, Khan’s family, accompanied by hundreds of locals, gathered at the Susner Police Station demanding justice. They alleged that the shop owner and his son forced Khan to lift loads heavier than he could manage, which may have triggered the heart attack.

“He was crying in pain and asking for help. But instead of rushing him to the hospital, they told others to continue working. The owner didn’t even get up from his chair,” a relative told.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident following widespread outrage over the lack of humanity displayed by those present.
