Ranchi, Oct 12: The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) on Saturday said it will take its own decision on contesting the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections if “respectable seats” are not allocated to the party by the INDIA bloc by October 14.
JMM central general secretary and spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya said the party is willing to contest at least 12 assembly seats as part of the Mahagathbandhan alliance. “We urge the leaders of Mahagathbandhan in Bihar to announce JMM's share at the earliest, as the nomination process has already begun,” he said, adding that the party has completed its preparations for the polls.

Bhattacharya cited Jharkhand election examples, where the JMM gave alliance partners like Congress, RJD, and CPI(ML)L a fair share of seats and ensured representation in the state government. He stressed that the JMM’s central committee meeting on October 15 will decide the final course of action if seats are not allotted before then.
He warned that delaying seat allocation could affect the alliance’s performance in Bihar, emphasizing that JMM knows how to contest strongly against the BJP and wants clarity to avoid giving any advantage to opponents.
