Puttur: Man dies after lightning strike

Puttur, Oct 12: A man died after being struck by lightning during heavy rain accompanied by thunder in the taluk on Saturday evening. The incident occurred at Anadka in Shantigodu village.

The deceased has been identified as Vaman (40), a resident of Anadka. Vaman, a daily wage labourer.

He had returned home after work around 5.30 pm and was sitting in front of his house when lightning struck, causing serious injuries that led to his death.

    Its so sad.Always it hits the poor .cant explain how it happened .May be he was sitting near a Iron piece ?On floor without any mat?God give his family to bear the loss.May his soul rest in peace.Advisable is kindly try to sit on a wooden Bench, stuhl etc during thundering ,away from electric connections.
