Mangaluru, Oct 15: The road stretch from Pumpwell Circle to Kankanady Bypass in Mangaluru is undergoing phased development work, prompting the city traffic police to announce temporary traffic diversions in the area. The diversions will remain in effect until April 15, 2026, covering a seven-month construction period.

As part of the project’s first and second phases, one side of the dual carriageway from Karavali Junction to Pumpwell has been designated as a one-way route for vehicle movement. Similarly, the Pumpwell to Kankanady Old Road–Kankanady Junction stretch has also been made temporarily one-way.

Parking of any kind of vehicle on either side of these one-way stretches is strictly prohibited.

According to the notification issued by the City Police Commissioner, vehicles coming from Padil and Thokkottu towards Pumpwell Circle and heading to Karavali Junction must now proceed via Kankanady Old Road to Kankanady Junction, take a right turn, and continue towards Karavali Junction.

Likewise, vehicles coming from Fanneer Road and Valencia Road towards Pumpwell must travel via Kankanady Junction, head straight to Karavali Junction, take a right turn, and then proceed towards Pumpwell Circle.

The Mangaluru City Police have appealed to motorists to cooperate with the temporary changes to ensure smooth traffic flow and support the timely completion of the road development works.
