Mangaluru, Oct 27: Srinivas University, Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre organised the MBBS batch orientation programme on October 27, at the Mukka campus.
Srinivas University chancellor, Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, presided over the programme and addressed the gathering. In his speech, he emphasized that the medical profession is one of the noblest professions, as society cannot function without doctors. He urged the students to build strong and compassionate relationships with their patients, work diligently, and strive to become excellent doctors while remaining humble. He advised them to make wise decisions that would lead them to become successful doctors, responsible citizens, and good human beings. Dr Rao also encouraged the students to continuously seek knowledge, reminding them that being greedy to learn is the key to achieving great success in life.












Srinivas University pro-chancellor, Dr A Srinivas Rao, in his address, said that the knowledge gained in PU forms the foundation, but what students learn in professional courses is what truly shapes their life and career. He emphasized that a strong foundation is essential for success in any profession. Along with professional education, he highlighted the equal importance of soft skills, which play a vital role in personal and professional growth. Dr Rao also announced that a Robotic Surgery Theatre is being set up at the University Hospital this year, providing students with advanced learning opportunities and hands-on exposure to cutting-edge medical technology.
Srinivas University board of governors trustee member, A Vijayalakshmi R Rao blessed students and suggested students treat their patients with smiles.
Srinivas University board of governors trustee member, Prof Er A Mitra S Rao, in her address, quoted “Vaidyo Narayano Hari,” emphasizing the divine nature of the medical profession. She said that doctors command great respect in society, as patients place immense trust in them. She encouraged the students to build strong relationships with their patients and to always uphold the values of care and compassion. She also highlighted the importance of effective communication skills, as they play a key role in establishing trust and rapport between doctors and patients.
Dr K Satyanarayan Reddy, vice-chancellor of Srinivas University, elaborated on the University offerings, infrastructure, and academic excellence. Srinivas University Registrar Dr Anil Kumar, development registrar Dr Ajay Kumar were present.
SIMS & RC dean Dr Uday Kumar Rao welcomed the gathering; Srinivas Hospital medical superintendent Dr David M Rosario delivered the vote of thanks. Dr Annet D'souza and Dr Anusha hosted the event.
