KSET exam on Nov 2 across 11 districts, over 1.36 lac candidates to appear

Bengaluru, Oct 31: The Karnataka State Eligibility Test (K-SET) for the post of assistant professors in Government First Grade Colleges will be held on November 2 across 11 districts of the State.

A total of 1.36 lac candidates have registered for the exam, which will be conducted for 33 subjects at 316 centres located in Bengaluru, Ballari, Belagavi, Davanagere, Dharwad, Kalaburagi, Mangaluru, Mysuru, Shivamogga, Tumakuru, and Vijayapura districts.

While Bengaluru will host examinations for all 33 subjects, the remaining districts will conduct tests for 11 selected subjects. The authorities have clarified that no negative marking will be applied in the evaluation.

The examination will be held from 10 am to 1 pm, and both Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be distributed simultaneously. Candidates must answer 100 marks in General Knowledge and 200 marks in the subject-specific paper within three hours. Each paper will have a separate OMR sheet, and candidates are instructed to mark answers carefully on the respective sheets, said H Prasanna, executive director of the Karnataka Examination Authority.

A dress code has been made mandatory for all candidates. Security personnel, including police and home guards, will verify candidates’ identities before entry into the examination centres. Authorities have advised candidates to arrive well before the scheduled time to avoid delays during the verification process.
