New Delhi, Nov 8: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) organised a public lecture in the national capital on Friday, ahead of National Cancer Awareness Day observed on Sat, Nov 7.
Held under the theme ‘Prevention to Palliation’, the lecture emphasised the importance of cancer prevention, early detection, recent advancements in treatment, and the need for comprehensive supportive and palliative care.

More than 300 students from various Kendriya Vidyalaya schools across the Delhi region participated in the event, which aimed to spread awareness about adopting healthy lifestyles and recognising early warning signs of cancer.
The session also saw active participation from ASHA workers, teachers, parents, students, cancer survivors, caregivers, and members of the general public, reaffirming a collective commitment to early detection, healthy living, and compassionate cancer care.
