Udupi, Nov 18: The poster release ceremony of the short film “Why Does (a+b) ² Cause Tension”, presented by Sampoor?a Foundation, was held at the auditorium of PPC College, Udupi on November 17.
The poster was unveiled by principal of Poornaprajna College Dr Ram, director of Poorna Prajna Institute of Management Dr P S Aithal, and principal of Silas International School Jacinta D’Costa, by cutting the ribbon.
















Speaking at the formal programme held after the release, Dr Ram, principal of PPC College, expressed pride that the students of their college had participated in the film and showcased their talent. He added that the students have the potential to grow into fine actors in the future. The short film aims to remove the fear of science among students, he said, wishing success to the team.
Dr P S Aithal, director of Poornaprajna Institute of Management, conveyed his best wishes and said, “Students from Udupi have acted in this film. It offers both entertainment and a valuable life lesson. Nearly 60% of students feel mathematics is a tough subject, while only about 10% manage to score full marks. Many struggle with the basics, and to address this challenge, V P D’Sa is coming up with this film. If students follow the methods shown, they can achieve better results. The film is being released in four languages and aims to instil confidence in viewers. He has worked tirelessly on this project. I am confident this film will bring a positive change in society and influence the mindset of the youth.”
Jacinta D’Costa, principal of Silas International School, said, “It is a noble thought and it is a huge privilege to be part of this venture. I thank V P D’Sa for giving Silas International School the opportunity to be part of this venture.”
PPC college faculty member Aarti welcomed the gathering, director V P D’Sa delivered the introductory note, and Diana Saldana compered the programme.
