Mangaluru: Missing person found at ashram after eight years

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Nov 19: The initiative launched by city police commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy to trace missing persons has been receiving an excellent response, with another long-pending case successfully resolved.

Peter Mendonca, who had gone missing nearly eight years ago on August 25, 2018, had a case registered at the Kankanady Town police station. Search operations were carried out extensively across Dakshina Kannada district, neighbouring districts, and other states, including visits to various ashrams and shelter homes.

Finally, on November 8, Peter Mendonca was located at an ashram near Valencia church in the city. The successful tracing was carried out by Kankanady Town police station inspector T D Nagaraj, sub-inspectors Anita and Shivakumar, and police constable Shivananda.

Tragic. Complaint registered at Kankanady police station. Person found at Ashram at Valencia church. Distance hardly 3km. What happened to our Christian community which has so many meetings and contacts. Police searched every place and found him next door. I appreciate the effort of commissioner Mr. Reddy who is doing a good job in SK district

Reading the news it sounds like he was lost and found within the city limits , strange that no kin was successful in finding him in so many years, more stranger is that the ashram authorities didn't try to enquire about his families where abouts in local churches or societies.. Good he was found, better late then never..
