Mangalruu: Joshiana 14.0 wraps up with recognition, inspiration, and celebration at SJEC

Mangaluru, Nov 24: The valedictory ceremony of Joshiana 14.0, the prestigious national-level IT fest hosted by the Students Association of the Department of Computer Applications at SJEC, took place on Saturday, November 22.

The event marked the successful conclusion of two days of intense competition and creativity. Dr Purushothama Chippar, vice principal, St Joseph Engineering College, served as the chief guest.

The programme commenced with a soulful prayer song, setting a reflective and inspiring tone for the evening. Following the prayer, the dignitaries were escorted to the stage, where they were warmly received by the audience. Other distinguished guests included Fr Wilfred Prakash D’Souza director-SJEC, Fr Kenneth Rayner Crasta assistant director-SJEC, Dr Hareesh B Head of the MCA Department; Nishmitha J, convener of Joshiana 14.0, Harshith B president of TechnoCrats and Sannidhi Shetty Secretary of TechnoCrats.

Ruvel Aaron Mascarenhas, a second-year MCA student, delivered the welcome address, extending his warm greetings to the gathering and expressing appreciation for the collective efforts that contributed to the success of Joshiana 14.0. His words set an encouraging and graceful tone for the ceremony.

The chief guest, Dr Purushothama Chippar, inspired the audience with his message that skill is gained through practice, patience, and perseverance. He advised students not to pick skills just because others are learning them, but to choose skills that will remain relevant and sustainable for the future. Fr Kenneth Rayner Crasta of SJEC further addressed the gathering, stating that victory is not only about winning competitions but also about participation, self-love, and curiosity. He encouraged students to continue learning, as technology keeps evolving, and what remains constant is innovation.

Sannidhi Shetty presented a detailed report on Joshiana 14.0. She highlighted the enthusiastic participation of 32 colleges and approximately 349 participants, underscoring the vibrant and competitive nature of the event. Participants shared their feedback, expressing appreciation for the smooth coordination, engaging events, and the overall enriching experience provided throughout both days of Joshiana 14.0.

The highlight of the ceremony was the prize distribution, where the outstanding teams were recognised for their achievements. The winners of all the events under UG and PG categories were announced and awarded their trophies. The following colleges were recognized for their exceptional performance in multiple events:

Overall Championship (PG Category): Shree Devi Institute of Technology, Kenjar
Runners-Up (PG Category): Canara College, Kodialbail
Overall Championship (UG Category): St. Aloysius College, Mangalore
Runners-Up (UG Category): Sri Mahaveera College, Moodabidri

After the prize distribution, Sunith Kumar T, co-convener of Joshiana 14.0, delivered the vote of thanks. He expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the dignitaries, judges, organising committee, volunteers, and participants for their contributions to the success of the fest.

The ceremony concluded with the rendition of the college anthem, bringing the event to a fitting and celebratory close. Joshiana 14.0 was a resounding success, celebrating the spirit of innovation, competition, and excellence in the field of IT.
