Fire in diagnostic unit triggers emergency response at Mumbai hospital

Mumbai, Dec 22: A brief fire incident disrupted operations at Bhatia Hospital in Mumbai’s Grant Road locality on Monday afternoon, prompting swift action from emergency services. The Mumbai Fire Brigade received an alert at around 1.35 pm and immediately dispatched teams to the hospital.

Officials said the blaze originated from electrical fittings and wiring in the CT-MRI section located on the ground floor. Although dense smoke filled parts of the area, firefighters were able to contain and douse the fire before it could spread further.

As a safety precaution, multiple agencies—including the fire brigade, police, BEST personnel, ward officials, and 108 ambulance services—were placed on standby at the site. Authorities confirmed that there were no reports of injuries or casualties in the incident.
