Bengaluru, Dec 30: Kannada film ‘45’ has registered a promising start at the box office, crossing the Rs 12 crore mark within just five days of its release. The film has earned approximately Rs 12.30 crore in India net collections so far, indicating a steady run in its opening week.
The film opened on a strong note, collecting Rs 5.5 crore on its first day. It maintained momentum over the weekend, and by the end of Sunday, the total collections had already crossed Rs 11 crore, giving the makers reason to cheer.

However, as per early estimates shared by trade tracking website Sacnilk, the film witnessed a dip in collections on its fifth day. On Monday, ‘45’ reportedly earned around Rs 85 lakh, taking its overall total to nearly Rs 12.30 crore.
The overall Kannada occupancy on Monday stood at around 16.85 per cent. Morning shows recorded low footfalls with 9.01 per cent occupancy. Afternoon shows performed comparatively better at 22.43 per cent, while evening and night shows registered occupancies of 18.16 per cent and 17.80 per cent respectively.
Directed by Arjun Janya, ‘45’ features an ensemble cast including Shivarajkumar, Upendra, Raj B Shetty, Rajendran and Pooja Ramachandra in key roles.
Reviewing the film, ETimes noted that while ‘45’ is rich in ideas and messaging — touching upon themes such as traffic discipline, existential philosophy, grief, attachment and spirituality — the execution does not always allow these concepts to fully develop. The review pointed out that the screenplay feels uneven and rushed at times, prioritising suspense over organic character growth. It also observed that Vinay’s journey turns into a series of chases and escapes, which detracts from the film’s deeper philosophical undertones.
Despite mixed reviews, ‘45’ has managed a steady run so far. The performance during the weekdays will be crucial in determining whether the film can sustain its box office momentum in the days ahead.
