Moodbidri: Young man who dreamt of becoming a hotelier dies by suicide

Moodbidri, Jan 18: A young man who had worked in Dubai and nurtured dreams of starting a hotel business in his hometown allegedly died by suicide at Nagarakatte here on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Dikshit (35), son of Srinivas, who runs a sugarcane juice stall near the Nagarakatte–Ontikatte Cross road.

After returning from Dubai, Dikshit was reportedly planning to start a hotel business near the Ring Road in Nagarakatte and had made preparations towards realising his dream.

Police said that Dikshit took the extreme step by hanging himself using a shawl tied to a window in a room of the house while his ailing mother was asleep. The reason behind the incident is not yet known.

Moodbidri police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
