Udupi, Jan 24: Renowned epigram poet and Dinkar Desai award recipient, Uppunda Ganesh Vaidya (56), passed away due to a heart attack in Udupi on January 23.

A well-known figure in literary circles, Ganesh Vaidya earned wide recognition for his unique style of short, meaningful poetry. His simple yet profound expressions won the hearts of readers, and his published works enjoyed immense popularity.

Apart from his literary contributions, Ganesh Vaidya was also a dedicated chess coach who trained and mentored many students. He was the founder of Dwaraka Chess School and played a key role in promoting chess among young learners.

Ganesh Vaidya had also made a mark in the field of astrology. Through his varied interests and talents, he influenced many lives across different fields.

He is survived by his mother, wife, two children, brothers, sisters, and a large number of admirers.

Following his demise, literary lovers, friends, and well-wishers expressed deep sorrow and paid rich tributes, remembering him as a humble and committed literary personality.
