Mangaluru, Jan 26: Burglars broke into a locked house and decamped with valuables near Palah School at Kesinagar in Talapady gram, police said.
The house belongs to Abubakkar, who has been working in Saudi Arabia for the past 25 years and owns a shop at Eliyar Padavu. According to sources, Abubakkar’s wife, son and daughter had locked the house and left for Saudi Arabia in August last year.

The incident came to light on Januray 25 when the wife of Abubakkar’s brother visited the house to clean it and found the premises ransacked.
Miscreants reportedly broke open the main door and entered the house. They broke open three cupboards in rooms on the ground floor and one cupboard in a room on the first floor, totalling four cupboards. Clothes were found strewn across the rooms. The burglars also rummaged through cupboards in the kitchen.
As no gold ornaments were found, the burglars allegedly stole a valuable wristwatch and a mobile phone kept in the cupboards. Family members stated that the gold ornaments had been kept in a safe locker before the family left for abroad.
It is suspected that the burglars had targeted the house in search of gold ornaments and took away other valuables after failing to find them.
Abubakkar’s brother-in-law Shekhabba has lodged a complaint at the Ullal police station. Police have registered a case and are investigating.
