Kandolkar flags alleged illegal plotting at Thivim

Thivim, Feb 10: Former Thivim MLA Kiran Kandolkar has raised serious concerns over an alleged illegal plotting project at Thivim, warning that it could lead to large-scale unauthorised development and strain local infrastructure.

Kandolkar recently met officials of the Town and Country Planning (TCP) Department and objected to the proposed use of an existing 3-metre-wide road for the development of 75 plots. He alleged that the narrow access road violates planning norms and is inadequate to support such a project.

The former MLA cautioned that the development could eventually expand to nearly 400 plots, which would put immense pressure on basic infrastructure, traffic movement and civic amenities in the area.

He further claimed that the TCP Minister informed him that directions had already been issued to register a First Information Report (FIR) in connection with the alleged illegalities linked to the project.

Kandolkar urged authorities to take strict action to prevent unauthorised development and ensure that planning regulations are enforced in the interest of local residents.
