CISF Vande Mataram Coastal Cyclothon to reach Chicalim on Feb 15

Panaji, Feb 15: The Central Industrial Security Force Vande Mataram Coastal Cyclothon 2026 will reach Chicalim in Goa on Sunday, Feb 15 evening after completing a 182-kilometre stretch. The cycling team will halt at the Mormugao Port Authority.

The cyclothon is entering Goa from Maharashtra’s Sindhudurg district as part of its nationwide coastal journey.

The CISF Vande Mataram Coastal Cyclothon (VMCC)-2026 was flagged off from Lakhpat Fort on the western coast and from Bakkhali on the eastern coast, covering extensive coastal stretches across the country.

Goa Chief Minister, the Director General of Police and senior CISF officials are expected to be present during the team’s halt in the state.

The cyclothon aims to promote physical fitness, discipline and community participation in national security. It is part of the CISF’s nationwide campaign marking 150 years of the national song ‘Vande Mataram’, with a focus on strengthening national unity and coastal vigilance.

The initiative seeks to engage coastal communities, spread awareness about maritime and coastal security, and encourage the development of the nation’s blue economy.
