Kasargod: Father killed, son critically injured as car collides with KSRTC bus near Nellikatte

Kasargod, Feb 21: A devastating accident occurred early Saturday morning near Nellikatte in Badiyadka when a car travelling towards Kasargod Railway Station collided with a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation bus heading to Puttur, leaving a father dead and his son critically injured.

The deceased has been identified as Nellikatte Shamsuddin (68), while his son, Salman Harris (22), sustained serious injuries and was immediately admitted to a private hospital in Kasargod for treatment.

The mishap took place at around 6 am on February 21 within the Badiyadka police station limits.

Reports indicate that the car and the bus collided head-on, leaving the car mangled beyond recognition. Emergency responders rushed the father-son duo to the hospital, but Shamsuddin succumbed to his injuries despite immediate medical attention. Salman Harris remains in critical condition.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision, including vehicle speed and road conditions at the time of the accident.
