Trailer of ‘Vadam’ promises fierce rural action rooted in Jallikattu

Chennai, Feb 21: The makers of Vadam, directed by Kenthiran V and headlined by Vimal, have unveiled an intense trailer that hints at a gripping rural action drama packed with emotion and vengeance.

Sharing the trailer on social media, Masani Pictures described the film as being inspired by a real Manju Virattu (bull-chasing) incident and promised a high-energy cinematic experience ahead of its March 6 release.

The trailer introduces Vimal as a proud bull owner whose prized animal competes in the traditional sport of Jallikattu. The narrative soon shifts to darker undertones as an elderly man is seen seeking assassins capable of beheading a target. What follows is a string of failed assassination attempts, mounting tension, and escalating violence.

As the plot thickens, the elderly mastermind questions the competence of those hired, while the village headman declares his foremost responsibility is to protect the town and its surrounding villages. Amid the chaos, Vimal’s character delivers a powerful line, asserting that while those driven by money may retreat, those fighting for honour will never step back. The trailer culminates with a chilling order from the man behind the plot: there is no need for secrecy — the killing must be carried out face-to-face.

The film features an ensemble cast including Nataraj (Natty), Sanashka Sri, Munishkanth, Bala Saravanan, Aadukalam Naren, Madhusudhan Rao, Deepa Shankar and Indumathy Manikandan.

Produced by Rajasekar R, the film’s music has been composed by D. Imman, with cinematography by Prasanna S Kumar and editing by Sabu Joseph VJ. Art direction is by V. Sasikumar, while action sequences have been choreographed by G.N. Murugan. Dance numbers are staged by Dinesh, Dheena and Santhosh. P.A. Shanmugam has served as co-director.

With its blend of tradition, honour and action, Vadam is set to hit theatres on March 6.
