Mangaluru, Mar 2: A man attempted suicide by jumping into the river from the Netravati bridge, which has been identified as a suicide point, but was rescued by fishermen who were engaged in fishing in the river and given primary treatment.
The incident occurred on Sunday when an elderly resident of Pumpwell Naguri reportedly jumped into the river from the bridge. Fishermen who were fishing below immediately jumped into the river, pulled the man into their boat and later admitted him to a hospital for primary treatment.
