Sullia: Election boycott banner put up in Ajjavara over delay in road development

Daijiworld Media Network – Sullia

Sullia, Mar 2: A banner calling for an election boycott has been put up in Ajjavara of Sullia taluk, alleging prolonged delay in road development works.

It is alleged that there has been an inordinate delay in asphalting the approximately 3 km road stretch from the cross road of Shiraje 2nd Ward in Ajjavara village to Beenadka in Belya 4th Ward. Residents say that repeated demands have been made for nearly 40 years for the asphalting of the road from Shiraje 2nd Ward cross road to Beenadka of Belya 4th Ward, but the work has not been taken up.

The banner also states that the area continues to be deprived of proper drinking water facilities and that their petitions have not received any response, while politicians continue to seek votes with false assurances. It further warns that if the continued neglect persists, the residents of Shiraje and Belya Beenadka, who are deprived of basic facilities, will boycott the upcoming elections.
