Udupi, March 2: In view of the prevailing instability in parts of the Middle East and the consequent disruption to international flight services, the Udupi district administration has issued a public advisory in the interest of residents and activated round-the-clock emergency helplines.
Airspace routes in 11 countries, including Iran, Israel, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia, have reportedly been closed until March 2. Following the sudden escalation, several passengers from Karnataka are believed to be stranded in various Middle Eastern nations, including the United Arab Emirates (Dubai).

Acting on the directions of the chief minister and the revenue minister, the State Emergency Operation Centre and the District Emergency Operation Centre have been placed on round-the-clock (24x7) alert, officials said.
The district administration is closely monitoring advisories and updates issued by the Ministry of External Affairs as well as Indian embassies in the affected countries.
