Mangaluru, Mar 2: The Srinivas University Institute of Aviation Studies, successfully organised a comprehensive five-days student development program titled “Future Ready 360°: Life Skills & Professional Excellence” from February 23 to 27, at Aviation Campus, Hampankatta, Mangaluru. Designed to equip students with a blend of technical knowledge, professional competence, and essential life skills, the program aimed at preparing young aviation aspirants to meet the dynamic demands of the global aviation industry. A total of 60 students from MBA Aviation Management, BBA Aviation Management, and BBA Aviation and Logistics Management participated in the program.
The five-days student development program commenced on February 23 with the inaugural program by the vice-chancellor Dr K. Satyanarayana Reddy and delivered the first session on “Spread Your Wings, Chart Your Skies: Becoming Future-Ready in a World That Won’t Wait,” urging students to enhance their skills, practice continuous learning, and develop leadership and discipline to succeed in a fast-changing world. Lanster Melroy, safety officer at Air India SATS, provided practical insights into airport ground operations and apron safety procedures. Sri Ranjan Bellarpady emphasized character building and social responsibility in his address on “Transforming Self to Transforming India.”
















Day two sessions focused on leadership and career readiness, with Sachitha Nandagopal guiding students on developing managerial and leadership skills. Suman Mudi, commercial head of Mangaluru International Airport, explained the broader commercial and operational aspects of airport management. And Dr Rahul Tonse Ganesh highlighted professional discipline and career preparedness.
On day three, the sessions focused on holistic development and industry skills. Florance Angelin discussed ergonomics and mental wellbeing. Roopesh addressed aviation marketing strategies, and Prof Dr Arwin Rodrigues conducted an interactive session on effective English communication.
Day four featured Major Pallavi Borse, who spoke on resilience and human factors in aviation. Fr Sojan P Joseph introduced NLP tools for confidence and career growth, along with guidance on professional etiquette and personality development. Prof Dr Arwin Rodrigues delivered an engaging and insightful session emphasizing the importance of grooming, body language, communication style, and workplace ethics in building a successful career.
The final day emphasized operational knowledge and safety. Arun Kumar M discussed airport check-in procedures and industry challenges, Vaishak Subramanian covered aviation security and dangerous goods handling, and Dr Akhil Rao U K concluded the program with a practical session on CPR and emergency response. Overall, the program successfully achieved its aim of preparing students with industry-relevant skills and holistic professional development.
The student development program was successfully conducted under the guidance and support of Dr Pavithra Kumari, dean, Institute of Aviation Studies, Roshin K Sibi, head of the department, Maithri, student development program coordinator and with the support of the other faculty members and staff whose collective efforts ensured smooth organization and execution of the event.
