Condolence meeting held for journalist Seshagiri Bhat in Udupi

Udupi, Mar 3: A condolence meeting was organized by the Udupi District Working Journalist’s Association in memory of its member, senior journalist Seshagiri Bhat, who recently passed away. The meeting was held on March 3 at the Udupi Press Club.

Seshagiri Bhat was the vice-president of the Brahmavar Taluk unit of the association and served as the Brahmavara correspondent for the Kannada daily newspaper.

Addressing the gathering, district president Subrahmanya G Kurya described Seshagiri Bhat as a soft-spoken person and a fine writer who was actively involved in journalistic work. He said Seshagiri Bhat was a senior member of the association and had served as an office-bearer in the taluk unit. “His demise is a great loss to our association. May his soul rest in peace,” he said.

State committee member Astro Mohan, senior journalists Kiran Manjanabailu, B B Shettigar, Shashidhar Mastibailu, Naveen Kumar, and Brahmavara Taluk unit president Rajesh Ganiga Achladi paid floral tributes and offered their condolences.

Association general secretary Nazeer Polya delivered the vote of thanks. District vice-president Prabhakar Acharya Chittoor compered the programme.

District treasurer Harish Suvarna, Secretaries Umesh Marpalli and Lokesh Acharya Tekkatte, committee member Ajith Aradi, Mohan Udupa, Praveen Muddur and others were present.
