Abu Dhabi, Mar 5: The Indian Embassy in UAE on Thursday issued a new advisory urging Indian nationals in the United Arab Emirates to remain vigilant, calm, and strictly follow safety guidelines issued by local authorities, as well as official advisories from the Embassy and Consulate.
The advisory highlighted that while regular scheduled flights in the UAE remain temporarily suspended due to the ongoing security situation, Indian and UAE airlines have begun limited non-scheduled operations to India. Stranded nationals can contact their respective airlines for travel options, subject to operational and safety approvals by the relevant authorities.

“In view of the prevailing situation in the United Arab Emirates and the region, all Indian Nationals currently in the UAE are advised to continue to remain vigilant, calm, adhere to the safety guidelines of the UAE Authorities and also follow official advisories issued from time to time,” the Embassy stated.
The Embassy and the Indian Consulate in Dubai, along with outsourced passport, consular, and visa services, continue to operate normally. Helpline numbers have been provided for Indians requiring assistance. Additionally, the UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Authority (ICP) has announced a waiver of overstay fines for visitors whose visas expired after February 28 and who are unable to depart due to the exceptional circumstances.
The advisory reaffirmed that the Indian government places the highest priority on the safety and well-being of its citizens abroad and is closely monitoring developments. Both the Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate in Dubai remain in regular contact with UAE authorities and community leaders to ensure support for the Indian community. Updates will continue to be shared via official websites and social media channels.
The advisory follows recent attacks in the region. According to the UAE Ministry of Defence, the country’s air defence systems successfully intercepted three ballistic missiles and 121 out of 129 drones detected. Since the start of Iranian attacks, 189 ballistic missiles have been launched toward the UAE, with 175 destroyed, 13 falling into the sea, and one landing within the country. A total of 941 Iranian drones have been detected, 876 intercepted, and eight cruise missiles destroyed.
The Embassy stressed that all Indians in the UAE should continue to follow safety instructions and stay informed through official channels as the situation develops.
