Mangaluru, Mar 6: An awareness session on project work for the students of commerce and management was organized at Government First Grade College, Kavoor, Mangalore on March 6 with the objective of guiding students on the importance, preparation, and effective execution of academic projects.

The programme began with a warm welcome by Dr Santhosh Pinto, coordinator of the Institution’s Innovation Council and the programme convenor.

The session featured Dr Suresh Poojary, former dean, faculty of commerce, St Aloysius Deemed to be University, as the resource person. In his insightful presentation, he explained the significance of project work in higher education and provided detailed guidance on selecting appropriate topics, conducting research, organizing data, and preparing project reports effectively. He also shared practical tips on maintaining academic integrity, proper referencing, and presenting findings clearly. His session was highly informative and encouraged students to approach their projects with curiosity, discipline, and creativity.

The programme was presided over by Dr Therese Pereira, principal in-charge, who addressed the gathering and emphasized the role of project work in enhancing students’ analytical and problem-solving abilities.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Jyothi Shetty, coordinator of the Commerce and Management Association.

The session proved to be highly beneficial for the students, providing them with a clear understanding of how to plan and execute their project work effectively.
