Beirut, Mar 7: Tens of thousands of residents were forced to flee southern suburbs of Beirut as Israel launched a series of airstrikes targeting Hezbollah positions, escalating the conflict in Lebanon. The evacuation, described as the widest ever by Israel against Lebanon, included areas in Tripoli, Tyre, Sidon, Nabatieh, and Baalbek. Israeli strikes hit around 115 targets, including buildings used as alleged Hezbollah headquarters.
Amid the chaos, many evacuees were left without shelter, sleeping in streets, cars, and public spaces. The UN human rights chief, Volker Turk, expressed concerns over the mass displacement under international law. Israeli military officials posted evacuation orders on X, while videos showed bombardments across Beirut.

The situation marks a significant escalation in the ongoing Middle East crisis involving Israel, Hezbollah, and Iran-backed groups, with civilians bearing the brunt of the hostilities.
