Mumbai, Mar 9: Family members, friends and colleagues from the film and television industry gathered in Mumbai to remember veteran producer Mahendra Bohra, whose demise earlier this month left many in the entertainment fraternity mourning.

Actor Karanvir Bohra and his family organised a prayer meeting on Sunday, March 8, where loved ones came together to pay their respects. The solemn gathering was held at Khatwari Darbar in the evening, drawing several well-wishers who arrived to honour the late producer and extend support to the bereaved family.

Among the prominent personalities present at the memorial was veteran actress Helen, who visited the venue to offer her condolences. The celebrated performer, known for iconic appearances in films such as Caravan, Don and Sholay, was seen arriving quietly at the prayer meet to pay her last respects.

Videos circulating online captured moments from the gathering, including Helen greeting Karanvir Bohra and offering words of comfort. Her presence reflected the strong relationships Mahendra Bohra had built in the entertainment industry over the years.

Soon after his father’s passing, Karanvir Bohra shared a heartfelt message on social media remembering him. The actor posted a video montage featuring cherished memories and moments he had spent with his father over the years.

Along with the video, he wrote an emotional note reflecting on his father’s influence on his life. “Love you, Dad. I’m going to miss you more than words can ever say. Anyone who has lost a parent knows the kind of ache it leaves behind. But even in this pain, I find peace in knowing you lived a full, beautiful life. You left us the way you always wished to… peacefully and without suffering,” he wrote.

He added that his father had always spoken about leaving the world “with his boots on,” and said that was exactly how he passed away—strong, dignified and on his own terms.

Karanvir also spoke about the lessons he learned from his father that shaped his journey in the entertainment industry.

“You taught me to dream, to be a producer’s actor, never to leave the set without finishing your shot. You taught me to create. You taught me to be kind. You taught me to carry myself with style and grace, just like you did,” he wrote.

Industry mourns the loss

Mahendra Bohra passed away on March 2, 2026, in Mumbai at the age of 79. He is survived by his wife, son Karanvir Bohra and a daughter.

His passing has left his family and many in the film and television industry mourning the loss of a respected producer and a warm personality remembered fondly by colleagues and friends.
