Karkala: Fire breaks out at Hiriyangadi cremation ground; brought under control

Karkala, Mar 22: A fire broke out on Sunday, March 22, in the afternoon at the Hindu cremation ground in Hiriyangadi, engulfing various wooden materials stored on the premises.

The flames also slightly affected an ambulance parked nearby. However, a major disaster was prevented due to the prompt intervention of the Karkala Fire and Emergency Services personnel, who rushed to the scene and brought the blaze under control.

Station Officer Albert Monis, along with assistant station officer Chandrashekhar and team members Rupesh, driver Alwyn, Dinesh, and Bheemappa, responded immediately upon receiving information about the incident. Their swift action successfully contained the fire, saving significant property from damage.
