Mangaluru, Mar 24: Public anger erupted at the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) office on Tuesday following prolonged delays in the issuance of birth and death certificates, which forced citizens to wait in long queues since morning.
According to those gathered at the corporation office, many had been waiting since the early hours for their turn. However, at around 3 pm, officials opened the counter only to announce that a mere 20 tokens would be issued for the day. This sparked immediate protests and outrage among the crowd.


Over a hundred people gathered in front of the counter to express their frustration against the department. Many shouted slogans questioning the officials, stating that they had been visiting the office for the past week but were repeatedly sent back without their work being completed.
Several individuals noted that they had taken leave from work to arrive early in the morning. They described the officials' afternoon announcement regarding the limited token count as unacceptable. the crowd demanded that the corporation make proper arrangements to streamline the issuance of certificates and prevent the public from waiting for days on end.
The situation remained tense for some time as citizens continued to voice their anger over the mismanagement and delay in essential services.
