Udupi, Mar 25: A local fisherman has gone missing after a collision between two fishing boats off the Kaup coast in Udupi on the evening of Tuesday, March 24.
According to reports, a group of local fishermen had ventured into the sea to confront a boat allegedly from Tamil Nadu, which was reportedly engaged in illegal fishing activities in the area. During the confrontation, the Tamil Nadu fishermen are accused of deliberately ramming their vessel into the local boat.
The impact caused the local boat to capsize.

While one fisherman was rescued from the water, another fell into the sea and remains missing.
Search operations are currently under way to locate the missing individual. It is alleged that the Tamil Nadu fishermen fled the scene immediately after the incident.
Local fishermen have expressed outrage, claiming that boats from Tamil Nadu have been illegally entering these waters for several days. They further alleged that despite lodging multiple complaints with the concerned authorities regarding these territorial violations, no action has been taken so far.
