Mumbai, Mar 27: A sessions court in Mumbai is set to deliver its verdict on Friday in the alleged fake encounter case involving gangster Sandeep Gadoli.

Eight accused, including five personnel from the Haryana Police, are facing trial in connection with the 2016 killing, which took place at a hotel near the city’s international airport.

Gadoli was shot dead on February 7, 2016, in what was initially described as an encounter by a team of Gurgaon Police at the Airport Metro hotel. However, the incident later sparked allegations that the encounter was staged.

Known as a notorious figure in North India’s criminal network, Gadoli had risen from a small-time operator to one of the most wanted gangsters before his death.

Interestingly, he hailed from a family linked to law enforcement, as his father, Bhup Singh Jat, served as a sub-inspector in the Haryana Police. Despite this background, Gadoli’s life took a different turn, leading him into the underworld.

The verdict is expected to bring closure to a case that has remained under scrutiny for nearly a decade.
